Mt. Rainier - Mystic Lake

Krista and I left bright and early this last saturday morning for a Labor Day weekend getaway, and what a trip it was !

Our trip ended up being 3 day / 2 nights. We completed somewhere around 30 miles of mostly uphill hiking. Some of the views on this trail were absolutely amazing, i definately had never been that close to the mountain.

Call me lazy but ... Heres a snipet from Kristas website :)

Well those who know me well know what to expect when I am traveling, little research, big plans, and really no way of talking me out of it. Corey and I got to New York safely at about 4PM. Got checked in at Delta for our Amsterdam flight at 5PM. Lets hit the city right?! Took the A Line out of Brooklyn, the look on Corey’s face when we got on the train was priceless. This car must have had about 4 or 5 bloods on it, people rockin to hip-hop, and an old grandma lady that was giving us the look of death (You two dont belong here look). Got to the city and checked out Wall Street, World Trade Center, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Had pizza, Dunkin Donut, tried to get the NYC experience as quickly as possible. Out planes LEAVES at 10 PM. It 7:45, go back down to the subway station, the direction we need to go is now closed. The next station up its closed. We get to a station were the subway train is right and get on at 8:20. Its 9:25, I’m freaking out. We are still on the train back to the airport. We run, push children, go through security, make the freakin plane. Poor Corey, he has to do this all week. We’re in Amsterdam, its 10:30 PM and need to catch up to the locals. PEACE!

Boulder River Hike

4/11/2010 - I met up with Lisa from the "South Sound Adventure Group" at around 6:30am in tacoma with plans to check out the waterfalls at Boulder River up towards Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National forest. After meeting up with lisa we hit the road again this time to meet up with Don in Bothell ,who is also with the group. We arrived at the trail head shortly after 9am. Must to my dismay there were all ready 15+ cars parked around the trail head by that time, so we were gonna have to pickup the pace in order to get some time in at the falls or photos. The weather had been really questionable all week with word of stormfronts tempting to ruin our trip. Fortunately the weather worked out in our favor and was beautiful all day, reminded me of a spring / summer day !

2007 Dodge 3500 "Dream Truck"

" If anyone had asked what i was doing for Labor Day, buying a new truck wouldnt have been it !"

Prior Details (Wants):
  • 2007 Dodge RAM 2500/3500
  • 5.9 Cummins
  • 6spd Tranny
  • 4.10 Gears
  • Mega Cab
  • NOT LIFTED !! (Want the MPGs these days)
So ive casually been looking for this "Dream Truck" for probably going on a month when my buddy (Jason) calls the lady on Sunday and says "Hey dude, ive found your truck ...." Unbeknownced to him i was already scheduled to go look at another truck at a dealership that hadnt been calling me back all week. It kindaaaaa.... was what i was looking for, but ... lets be honest here, looking back it wasnt really. It was a 2008 Dodge RAM 3500 Quad Cab Long bed with 212mi.  It had the 6spd tranny i was looking for but unfortunately it had the 6.7 cummins, and 3.73 rearend, and light silver...... I was considering settling. Fortunately just after i got the call back from jason, the other dealership i had been trying to get ahold of all week calls back and says "Hey, unfortunately we sold that yesterday .... " .... PERFECT ! So i get online to check it out at www.nwmsrocks.com, and much to my dismay, there it was
  • 2007 Dodge RAM 3500
  • 5.9L I6 Turbo Diesel
  • 6 Spd Manual
  • 4WD
  • MEGA CAB / Short Box
  • Better than 3.73 rear end (Still Questionable ? TBD w/ buildsheet tomorrow)
  • AND ITS RED !! (Just like EVERY truck ive owned !)
So after some bartering and bargining. ITS MINE !

2009-06-07 NESBA "Let the good times go"

So i participated in the recent Sat / Sun NESBA June 6th & 7th. And well Saturday rained all day, so i didnt go out. Sunday was great... Spent the first two morning sessions searching for my mojo, and by the end of the 2nd session i felt good enough to mount up a new dunlop 211 rear from barry @ KFG. Then i went out for the 3rd session, gave the tires a few good laps to warm up, then i started picking up the pace. Everything was going great, right up until my front tire went flat !!! Moral of the story. When they say during the WMRRA NRS that you MUST have a metal valve cap. Its for a good reason ! So that even IF your valve stem backs out it"ll catch it and probably not leak out your precious tire pressure. This ... everyone is what happens when your dunlop is damn near flat (Demonstrated in last video). Good Times ! Good Times !

Miller National - 05/24/09

Salt Lake City, UT

Friday practice was plagued with tire and suspension problems as I ruined any tires that even got near the bike within only a few laps. Later in the day, After talking with Barry Wressell from KFG / GP Suspension North back home in Seattle, I was able to begin cleaning up the issues and focus on bringing down my times for Saturday practice.

Sunday morning started off with rain which was a welcome sight being from Seattle where it rains almost nonstop. After mounting up a set of 5yr old Dunlop rains I went out for the first morning practice and spent some time getting acquainted with Miller in the rain. After finishing the morning practices i was putting down some respectable times and felt pretty confident in my abilities in the rain and stood a good chance at doing well in the upcoming races, especially if the rain kept up !

Come the start of the first race 600 Super Stock the rain was still coming down in buckets. The board dropped, the flag flew and we were off ! After some hard fought battles with the competition, I started 22nd and finished 18th “Come to find out these guys DO know how to ride in the rain”, they just don’t practice.

As the second race 750 Super Stock started the rain had nearly cleared up and definitely would have been a race for my Dunlop NTEC’s, but I had left my rains mounted up with indecision in the air for everyone. Fortunately, everyone else had made the same choice. I Started 20th and finished 13th. By the end of the race the track had dried enough to make the swap back to my Dunlop NTEC’s during the gap before the next race.

By start of the third race 600 Super Bike, I had just barely enough time to get the dry tires mounted up, but not enough time to get the tires warmed up. So here I was, on the grid for the start, with cold tires, but wasn’t going to let that deter my objective. I started 20th and finished 17th.

For the last race of the day 750 Super Bike, I started 17th and finished 16th ! Whew, I made it !

Come to find out the road to recovery is a little longer than first thought to be. With everything said and done I finished the weekend without any incidences and gained some very valuable seat time and confidence back in the bike. I look forward to the next race at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA on 8/23

Wow ! what an absolutely amazing day. I had upgraded my suspension just after the start of the year to 25mil cartridges from GP Suspension up front and a Penske Triple out back. Prior to today i had recently been plagued with horrible suspension problems at the last WERA round @ Las Vegas, never having the time or access to a quality suspension specialist to set it up properly at the track. Since that round i had done a bit of research and asked a bunch of questions, with some help we came up with a good basline to start the trackday. So a few days before today i contacted Barry Wressell of GP suspension north who installed the new goodies earlier in the year. Barry said he was gonna be at the track early and for me to come by after the  first session and we'll start getting it dialed in. First session out was really slow going, as it should be. Track is cold / Dusty / Green. As the day went on the speeds picked up.  Throughout the day we had to continue to add preload to the front end to keep it off the bottom as i kept bottoming it out coming into turn three. With this time i was able to dial the bike in to where it felt like home. I think im back to a HAPPY PLACE ! Stay tuned for my report from miller ! Be sure to ckeck out the photos from today !
